Evening all.

Clearly it has been ages since we updated this thing...Well in case you were worried we made it through the trans-siberian unscarred. It was an amazing adventure and there are so many places we need to go back to, especially Mongolia and China.

As a quick catch up we spent some time in Finland to prolong our time in the snow. Helsinki is a great city, though expensive, but seems like a place that needs to be explored in more detail some time. We then were really lucky to spend about 5 weeks or so in Chamonix (French Alps) with Ange, Lou and Jonny, who were more than kind enough to put us up in their one room flat. Sleeping 5 in a room was a small price to pay for the view out our window and the snow slopes on tap out the door. We managed to get our hands on some cheap season passes and spent the next month snowboarding, eating the best cookies from the best bakery ever, drinking happy hour 1 euro pints and experiencing the hectic Apres Ski at Chambre Neuf. Also managed to hop over (well under really) Mont Blanc and have a few days boarding in Italy, along with great pizza and animated waiters.

After Chamonix we spent a really fun week with Nico, first in Dijon, then in Lille and Valenciennes, and then in Le Tourquet. It was great to experience French life (and food...cheeeeeese) with Nico and his family. We then met Tom over the border in Brussels, and had two nights of drinking copius amounts of delicious beer, hanging out with Tin Tin and the Smurfs and eating fries.

Then to London! we are now around the 10th of April, and after an interesting bus ride from Brussels which included having our bus stripped searched and some drugs being found in the bus toilet, we arrived 4 hours late to London but it was great to be back. Had a great time catching up with Emma, Row, Danielle, Krystal, Ulli and others, eating google buffets, being tourists, visiting Christoper and his wallabies in Sussex and enjoying the English weather.

Finally, on the 25th of April, after making the Hyde Park Dawn Service, our travels were over and it was time to head to Ireland to begin saving up again. We flew into Cork, and after 1 night in a hostel we found a great house with our housemates Damien and Helene (though Helene has moved out now...).

Anyway that's where we are at, still in Cork. We were both lucky to find jobs after a few weeks, as the recession here is particularly bad and there are hardly any jobs around. We having been saving hard, and had a great weekend of touring Kerry and Cork with Emma, Row and Stu, and another really fun two nights back in London. Ireland does live up to many cliches - it does rain constantly, there are hundreds of pubs, people drink lots of guinness and everyone is incredibly friendly. There is, however, an odd fashion trend here of gangs of youths dressed in tracksuits...kind of like an Irish Charnwood. We have had some days of sunshine, however we have been told to not get our hopes up for anything over 25 degrees for summer!

We plan to be here working until around the 12th of August and then it is off on holiday again! This time eastern Europe. We can't wait!

Hope everyone is great and enjoying winter in Australia.

Talk soon....
